Support My Paddle for Charity!
I’m gonna paddle my heart out in a 9.5-mile kayak race, the Sea Trek Regatta and ETC Paddle-A-Thon, on October 20 in the San Francisco Bay. All funds I raise will support Environmental Traveling Companions (ETC), who provides accessible outdoor adventure programs for people with disabilities and economically disadvantaged youth. Please donate to help out! Details below/after the jump.
I know several of ETC’s guides and clients, and they’re all fighting the good fight to expose people in need to the wonders of nature and outdoor recreation. They’ve guided over 62,000 people since 1972 on sea kayaking, whitewater rafting, and cross-country skiing trip, often over 2,000 each year! Ever seen a person in a wheelchair paddle or a person with developmental disabilities ski? It’s completely, utterly inspiring.
I hope to raise at least $500 in pledges by mid-October. Will you help?
Here are some tasty tidbits o’ info to whet your donatin’ whistle!
- Every dollar will be matched by Planet Granite, up to $40,000!
- ETC is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. All sponsorships are tax-deductible and you will be formally acknowledged with a thank you letter from ETC after the event. The letter will include your donation amount so you can use it for taxes.
How can you donate? Why, over at my personal page over at Crowdrise. It couldn’t be easier!
Thanks in advance for joining me in support of keeping outdoor adventures accessible to everyone!
